Golf Course Ranger

Position description: The Ranger assists with directing the flow of traffic on the course, enforcing facility rules, assisting customers with course etiquette, alerting management to any golf course problems, promoting the facility and its events and assisting players with any on-course problems.

Experience and Qualifications:

●  Experience in golf/golf course operations

●  Valid Drivers’ License

●  Ability to lift and carry up to 50 Pounds

●  Customer service experience

●  Ability to Converse with the Membership

●  Willing to undergo a background check

Responsibilities:

●  Communicate with Pro Shop staff, GM, and Superintendent for daily instruction/priorities

●  Notify players as needed of course and club information (ex: cart path only, etc.)

●  Communicate with Pro Shop staff as needed throughout the shift. Maintain awareness of

daily tee sheet

●  Maintain Ranger cart with supplies as needed

●  Actively patrol the course making loops starting on 18 going backwards

●  Check course restrooms and trash cans to ensure cleanliness and supply levels. Report

issues back to cart staff to be addressed.

●  Pick up trash throughout the grounds as needed

●  Support GM and Pro Shop staff with tournament facilitation as needed

●  Encourage the use of divot repair sand, ball marks, and bunker raking to ensure to

promote course maintenance

●  Enforce facility rules and regulations throughout property with members and guests.

Issue citations as needed

●  Prevent the use of outside alcohol on premise. Inspect outside coolers as needed. Issue citations as needed

●  Promote club programs, events, and image to the members of the facility at all times

●  Implement the Flag policy regarding the pace of play and notify the Pro Shop before

moving a group

●  Work with the Pro Shop to update the tee sheet as needed throughout the day

Knowledge, Skills and Traits:

●  Understand the Winton Farm Club Rules, Membership Contract, Addendum, and all standards related to course etiquette and play

●  Customer service oriented attitude

●  Excellent customer communication skills

●  Able to keep a well-tempered attitude and work well under pressure

●  Maintain high visibility with the membership on the course

Hours + Compensation:

This is a part time position requiring an average of 20 hours/week April-October.

Winton is willing to pay hourly for this position or trade for golf according to an agreed upon hourly rate.
